Datasheets
  • AFP/Alpha fetoprotein Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ, cited in 12 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 171-310 of AFP of human origin
  • recommended for detection of AFP of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • See AFP/Alpha fetoprotein (C3): sc-8399 for AFP/Alpha fetoprotein antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG1 BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for AFP/Alpha fetoprotein Antibody (F-8) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with AFP/Alpha fetoprotein Antibody (F-8) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

AFP Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), a crucial plasma protein primarily expressed in the fetal liver during development. AFP plays a significant role in transporting essential molecules such as copper, nickel, and fatty acids, and can interact with serum albumin or estrogen under certain conditions. In normal adult tissues, AFP levels are minimal; however, elevated concentrations are strongly associated with hepatocellular carcinomas and serve as a reliable tumor marker for monitoring tumor growth and progression. Anti-AFP antibody (F-8) is raised against amino acids 171-310 of human AFP and exhibits broad species reactivity, including mouse, rat, and human AFP, making it versatile for applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). By targeting a specific epitope on AFP, AFP (F-8) antibody ensures accurate detection and quantification, which is essential for both research and clinical diagnostics. Understanding AFP′s regulatory mechanisms, including its interactions with transcription factors like NF-1 and HNF-1, highlights the importance of precise detection tools like AFP (F-8) monoclonal antibody in advancing cancer research and improving patient outcomes. Whether used in laboratory settings or clinical environments, anti-AFP antibody (F-8) provides reliable performance for studying AFP′s function and its role as a biomarker in various diseases.
