AFF4 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AFF4 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AFF4 Antibody (G-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AFF4, also known as AF4/FMR2 family member 4 or MCEF, is primarily localized in the nucleus and plays a crucial role as a transcription factor within the positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) complex, which includes cyclin-dependent kinase 9 and cyclin T1. AFF4 is essential for regulating transcription during both fetal development and in adult tissues, with highest expression levels found in the placenta, heart, pancreas, and skeletal muscle. Defects in the gene encoding AFF4 can lead to the formation of an MLL-AFF4 fusion protein, which is associated with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, highlighting AFF4′s significance in cancer biology. Three isoforms of AFF4 arise from alternative splicing, further underscoring the complexity and functional diversity of this transcription factor in various biological contexts.
