SEE ALSO...

Afamin Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Afamin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Afamin antibody (G-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Afamin, also known as Alpha-albumin, is a 599 amino acid protein that belongs to the ALB/AFP/VDB family, which consists of structurally related serum transport proteins encoded by four genes located in a tandem arrangement on chromosome four. Afamin is primarily expressed in the liver and secreted into the bloodstream, where Afamin plays a crucial role in the transport of various ligands, although the specific ligand remains unidentified. Notably, Afamin contains three albumin domains and undergoes N-glycosylation, a post-translational modification that is essential for stability and function, influencing interaction with other proteins and overall biological activity. Afamin′s ability to bind and transport ligands effectively underscores potential importance in various physiological processes, including nutrient transport and regulation of blood plasma levels, making Afamin a significant target for research in metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.
