SEE ALSO...

Adducin γ Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Adducin gamma protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Adducin gamma antibody (G-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Adducins are a family of cytoskeletal proteins encoded by three genes (α, β, γ), and play a crucial role in organizing the cortical actin cytoskeleton, which maintains cell shape and stability. Adducin gamma protein regulates spectrin-actin interactions at the plasma membrane, contributing to cellular structural integrity. This function becomes particularly important during apoptosis, where cortical actin network loss can lead to cell death. While Adducin α associates with sodium-pump activity in renal tubules and links to hypertension, Adducin gamma exhibits ubiquitous expression, contrasting with Adducin β′s predominant presence in brain and hematopoietic tissues. These diverse roles underscore Adducin gamma′s significance in cellular function and pathology, making Adducin gamma monoclonal antibody (G-2) an essential tool for studying cytoskeletal dynamics and related diseases.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-365177 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jenni
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Reasonably potent and highly specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was detection of the ~94 kDa target protein in an A431/HepG2/MCF7 cell lysate mix, but not in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix). No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested or in the A431/HepG2/MCF7 cell lysate mix.
