SEE ALSO...

Adducin α Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Adducin α in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Adducin α is a crucial cytoskeletal protein that plays a significant role in organizing the cortical actin cytoskeletal network, which maintains cell shape and stability. Adducin α is particularly important in the renal tubule, where Adducin α is involved in sodium-pump activity, linking Adducin α to blood pressure regulation and hypertension pathophysiology. Adducin α expression is ubiquitous, contrasting with the more restricted expression of Adducin β, which is predominantly found in brain and hematopoietic tissues. Adducin α interactions with other cytoskeletal proteins at the spectrin-actin junction highlights Adducin α importance in cellular architecture and signaling pathways, making anti-Adducin α antibody (A-5) an invaluable tool for researchers studying cytoskeletal dynamics and related physiological processes.

I am using Adducin α (A-5): sc-133079 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
