SEE ALSO...

ACTR-IC Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ACTR-IC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-ACTR-IC antibody (A-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACTR-IC protein, also known as Activin receptor type 1C or Activin receptor-like kinase 7 (ALK-7), is a type I serine/threonine kinase receptor that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways. ACTR-IC features an extracellular binding domain, an intracellular serine/threonine kinase domain preceded by a GS box, and a transmembrane domain, which allows localization to the cell surface and interaction with various ligands. ACTR-IC is involved in regulating key biological processes, including cell proliferation and apoptosis, by forming complexes with other receptors such as Activin receptor type IIB (ACTR-IIB) in pancreatic cells. ACTR-IC kinase domain activates Smad2 and Smad3 signaling pathways, which are essential for mediating effects of Activin AB, Activin B, and Nodal. Alternative splicing of ACTR-IC results in four distinct transcripts, with the first being the functional full-length receptor, while others either lack a complete receptor binding domain or are soluble proteins devoid of a transmembrane domain. Diverse expression of ACTR-IC throughout the digestive and central nervous systems underscores its significance in various physiological and pathological contexts, making ACTR-IC monoclonal antibody (A-1) an invaluable tool for researchers studying these critical signaling pathways.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374538 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly potent and specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was very strong detection of the ~55 kDa target protein in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix). No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested.
