Datasheets
  • ACSL5 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ ACSL5 antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 661-683 at the C-terminus of ACSL5 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of short isoform and long isoform of ACSL5 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for ACSL5 Antibody (A-2) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with ACSL5 Antibody (A-2) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

ACSL5 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects ACSL5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ACSL5 antibody (A-2) is available as the non-conjugated format. ACSL5, a member of the acyl-CoA synthetase family, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of long-chain fatty acids into acyl-CoA derivatives, which are essential for various metabolic pathways, including the synthesis of triacylglycerol and phospholipids, as well as β-oxidation for energy production. ACSL5 is predominantly localized in the mitochondria, microsomes, and peroxisomes, highlighting its importance in cellular energy homeostasis and lipid biosynthesis. ACSL5 exhibits a preference for C16-C18 unsaturated fatty acids and is highly expressed in tissues such as the uterus and spleen. ACSL5 expression levels are significant in the context of cancer, as a decrease in ACSL5 has been associated with tumorigenesis in various cancers, including endometrioid adenocarcinomas and colorectal carcinomas, making ACSL5 a valuable marker for differentiation in the gastrointestinal tract.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-365478 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
