ACLP/AEBP1 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ACLP/AEBP1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACLP/AEBP1 (G-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The aortic carboxypeptidase-like protein (ACLP), which is an isoform of adipocyte enhancer binding protein 1 (AEBP1), serves as a transcriptional repressor with carboxypeptidase activity and is primarily expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells, with lower expression levels in adipose and osteoblastic cells. ACLP is characterized by a signal peptide sequence, a lysine- and proline-rich repeating motif, a discoidin-like domain, and a carboxypeptidase-like domain, which are crucial for function and localization. ACLP is secreted into the extracellular matrix, where ACLP may play significant roles in abdominal wall development and dermal wound healing. ACLP expression is downregulated during adipogenesis and upregulated during vascular smooth muscle cell differentiation, indicating potential involvement in tissue development and repair processes. AEBP1, a truncated form of ACLP, specifically lacks a 380 amino acid N-terminal sequence, which may influence regulatory functions in gene expression.
