    SEE ALSO...

AChRβ1 Antibody (148) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects AChRβ1 of mouse, rat, human, bovine, Torpedo, Rana, and Xenopus origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). AChRβ1 (148) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AChRβ1, also known as CHRNB1, is a critical component of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, playing a vital role in synaptic transmission at the neuromuscular junction. This receptor comprises five homologous subunits forming a transmembrane aqueous pore, allowing ion passage when activated by acetylcholine. Proper functioning of AChRβ1 is essential for muscle contraction and overall neuromuscular function, facilitating rapid signal transmission from nerve cells to muscle fibers. Mutations or defects in the gene encoding AChRβ1 can lead to congenital myasthenic syndrome slow-channel type (SCCMS), a condition characterized by muscle weakness affecting various muscle groups, including those responsible for eye movement and facial expressions. Understanding AChRβ1 role in synaptic transmission is crucial for developing therapeutic strategies for neuromuscular disorders.
