AChRα8 Antibody (312) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that recognizes AChRα8 in avian species through western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). AChRα8 functions as a multi-pass membrane protein composed of 456 amino acids within the ligand-gated ion channel receptor family. AChRα8 creates a transmembrane aqueous pore allowing ion flow in response to neurotransmitter binding, particularly acetylcholine. AChRα8 maintains essential roles in synaptic transmission at the neuromuscular junction, facilitating muscle contraction.
