The amiloride-binding protein 1, also known as amine oxidase, copper-containing (Abp1) or diamine oxidase (DAO), is a crucial enzyme belonging to the copper/topaquinone oxidase family, with the human counterpart referred to as kidney amine oxidase (KAO). ABP1 plays a significant role in the degradation of polyamines and biogenic amines, such as putrescine, histamine, spermine, and spermidine, which are vital for various physiological processes, including cell proliferation, tissue differentiation, and immune responses. Notably, ABP1 is secreted into the extracellular space, particularly in the placenta and kidney, where ABP1 is believed to influence female reproductive function and may also be involved in tumor formation and apoptosis. ABP1 (G-11) monoclonal antibody′s ability to effectively detect ABP1 across multiple species and applications makes this product an invaluable tool for researchers studying diverse biological roles and implications in health and disease.
