SEE ALSO...

ABCG2 Antibody (BXP-53) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects ABCG2 in mouse, rat, and human samples by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-ABCG2 antibody (BXP-53) is available in a non-conjugated form, providing researchers with a versatile tool for studying this critical protein. ABCG2, also known as the placenta-specific ABC transporter and breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP1), plays a vital role in the transport of various molecules across cellular membranes, utilizing energy derived from ATP hydrolysis. ABCG2 is particularly significant due to involvement in conferring resistance to a range of chemotherapeutic agents, including anthracyclines and topotecan, which poses challenges in cancer treatment. ABCG2 is crucial for maintaining the side population (SP) phenotype in stem cells, highlighting importance as a stem cell marker. ABCG2 is predominantly expressed in the placenta, liver, intestine, and various stem cells, where ABCG2 may serve a protective function by expelling toxins from the cell and regulating stem cell differentiation. Notably, ABCG2 may undergo N-linked glycosylation and has the potential to dimerize in vivo, which can influence functional properties and interactions with other proteins. This multifaceted role of ABCG2 underscores significance in both normal physiology and disease states, making ABCG2 (BXP-53) antibody an essential reagent for researchers investigating diverse functions and implications in therapeutic resistance.

Which secondary anti-body will be appropriate for BXP-53? also, does antibodies for mouse-IgG k work as a secondary antibody?

Asked by: Toshi_1993
ABCG2 Antibody (BXP-53) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a. We would recommend using a secondary antibody that is anti-rat IgG2a for detection of this primary antibody. Unfortunately, we do not currently anti-rat IgG secondaries available at this time. Our mouse IgG kappa binding protein will not work as a secondary antibody for detection of rat IgG.

I would like to use ABCG2 Antibody (BXP-53): sc-58224 for double staining with another mouse monoclonal primary antibody. Is this possible?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. In cases like this, we recommend using our directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibodies. Currently, sc-58224 is not available directly conjugated, but we have an alternative HNF-3α antibody (sc-377176) that is available conjugated to HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.
