SEE ALSO...

ABC1 Antibody (AC10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ABC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-ABC1 antibody (AC10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ABC1, or ATP-binding cassette transporter 1, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by facilitating the transport of cholesterol and phospholipids across cellular membranes, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing the accumulation of toxic lipids. ABC1 protein is predominantly located in the plasma membrane of cells, particularly in macrophages, where ABC1 is essential for the efflux of cholesterol to high-density lipoprotein particles, thereby influencing cholesterol levels in the bloodstream. Mutations in the ABC1 gene are associated with Tangier disease, a condition characterized by severely low levels of high-density lipoprotein and increased risk of cardiovascular disease. ABC1 is widely expressed across various human tissues, with particularly high levels found in the liver, lung, adrenal glands, placenta, and fetal tissue, and ABC1 expression is notably induced during monocyte differentiation and upregulated in the presence of acetylated low-density lipoprotein. ABC1 (AC10) monoclonal antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying lipid metabolism, cardiovascular health, and related diseases.

The protein size seems incorrect, ABCA1 should be 254kDa

Asked by: linnn
Thank you for your question. The expected molecular weight for ABC1 is between 220-250kDa. Please reach out to Technical service or your local Distributor if you have any further questions.

Are there any issues with using sc-53482: ABC1 (AC10) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-53482 conjugates.
