SEE ALSO...

20S Proteasome β2 Antibody (MCP165) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects 20S Proteasome β2 (PSMB2) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-PSMB2 antibody (MCP165) is offered in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental setups. PSMB2 plays a crucial role in cellular protein homeostasis by degrading unnecessary or damaged proteins, a process vital for maintaining cellular function and regulating various biological pathways. The structure of PSMB2 is particularly important, as it consists of a cylindrical core made up of four stacked rings, with each ring containing seven subunits. The outer rings are composed of α subunits that serve as structural components and docking sites for regulatory particles, while the inner rings consist of β subunits that possess catalytic activity essential for protein degradation. This unique architecture facilitates the selective entry of substrates and ensures tightly regulated degradation, preventing uncontrolled proteolysis that could lead to cellular dysfunction. PSMB2 (MCP165) antibody enables researchers to gain insights into proteasome activity and its implications in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

I am using 20S Proteasome β2 (MCP165): sc-58410 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining

Rated 3 out of 5 by from misleading labelingThis antibody does not detect the Beta 2 subunit of the 20S proteasome as advertised. It was made against PSMB2, which is NOT beta 2. PSMB2 is actually the Beta 4 subunit of the 20S proteasome. Most of Santa Cruz 20S proteasome antibodies are miss-labeled, so be sure to check the target gene and not just the label on the antibody before purchasing. Having said that, this antibody does label nicely (for Beta 4) on western blot.
