2,2,7-trimethylguanosine Antibody (K121) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects 2,2,7-trimethylguanosine in mouse, rat, and human samples through immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-2,2,7-trimethylguanosine antibody (K121) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. 2,2,7-trimethylguanosine plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation, particularly in pre-mRNA splicing, which is essential for accurate processing of precursor mRNA into mature mRNA. This nucleoside is found at the 5′ terminal cap site of small nuclear RNA (snRNA) components of U1, U2, U4/U6, and U5 nuclear small ribonucleoprotein particles (snRNPs), which are integral to the spliceosome complex that facilitates intron removal from precursor mRNA. 2,2,7-trimethylguanosine is vital for snRNP stability and functionality, and antibodies recognizing this cap structure can inhibit mRNA splicing, highlighting this modification′s importance in gene expression regulation. 2,2,7-trimethylguanosine monoclonal antibody (K121) ability to immunoprecipitate all major nuclear snRNPs makes this reagent invaluable for studying mRNA processing and molecular mechanisms of gene regulation.
