UTX Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects UTX in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UTX, or ubiquitously transcribed tetratricopeptide repeat, X chromosome, is a crucial 1,401 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a significant role in the regulation of gene expression by functioning as a histone demethylase. UTX is essential for modulating the histone code, specifically through the demethylation of lysine residues on Histone H3, which influences chromatin structure and accessibility, thereby impacting transcriptional regulation. UTX is particularly important in the context of Hox gene expression, which is vital for proper embryonic development and cellular differentiation. UTX contains one JMJC domain and eight TPR repeats, which are critical for interaction with other proteins, including TLE1, a key player in the Notch signaling pathway. By understanding UTX function and significance, researchers can gain insights into various developmental processes and potential dysregulations associated with diseases, making anti-UTX antibody (D-3) an invaluable tool for studying these complex biological mechanisms.
