TSC-36 Antibody (JJ7) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects TSC-36 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TSC-36 antibody (JJ7) is available as the non-conjugated format. TSC-36, also known as TGF-b1-stimulated clone 36 or follistatin-related protein 1, is a secreted extracellular glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in cellular growth regulation. TSC-36 shares amino acid sequence similarities with follistatin, an important inhibitor of activin, due to the presence of a follistatin module. TSC-36 is a heparin-binding protein, which suggests involvement in various biological processes, including cell signaling and tissue remodeling. TSC-36 expression is induced in response to transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-b1), highlighting significance in the negative regulation of cellular proliferation. TSC-36 is absent in small cell lung cancer cells, which are known for their aggressive nature, while detected in some non-small cell lung cancer cells, indicating a potential role in tumor biology and providing insights into function as a biomarker for cancer progression.
