SEE ALSO...

SPATA2 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SPATA2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SPATA2 Antibody (B-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SPATA2, or spermatogenesis associated protein 2, is a 520 amino acid nuclear protein predominantly expressed in Sertoli cells of the testis, where SPATA2 plays a crucial role in regulating spermatogenesis. Notably, SPATA2 is not found in spermatogenic cells, indicating SPATA2′s specific function in supporting the environment necessary for sperm development. SPATA2′s expression is significantly upregulated in response to follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which is essential for Sertoli cell function, suggesting SPATA2 is an FSH-responsive protein that may influence Sertoli cell activity and, consequently, spermatogenesis. Additionally, SPATA2 shares approximately 85% sequence identity with its rat homolog, highlighting SPATA2′s evolutionary conservation across mammals and underscoring SPATA2′s potential importance in reproductive biology.
