MCR Antibody (H10E4C9F) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MCR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). MCR (H10E4C9F) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The mineralocorticoid receptor (MCR) plays a crucial role in the regulation of electrolyte balance and blood pressure by mediating the effects of mineralocorticoid hormones, such as aldosterone. Located primarily in epithelial tissues, MCR is essential for the transport of sodium, potassium, and hydrogen ions, which are vital for maintaining homeostasis. Upon binding to aldosterone, MCR activates gene transcription, leading to increased expression of proteins involved in ion transport. The regulation of MCR is complex, involving both negative autoregulation and positive autoregulation mechanisms, which ensure that MCR activity is finely tuned to physiological needs. Additionally, MCR interaction with heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) is critical for proper function, as this association is necessary for hormone binding and subsequent receptor activation.
