LAMP-2 Antibody (ABL-93) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody raised against glycoprotein fractions purified from the BALB/c mouse embryo 3T3 cell line, with reactivity in mouse, rat, and human species. Anti-LAMP-2 antibody (ABL-93) is validated for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LAMP-2, also known as CD107B, is a lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in lysosomal function and cellular homeostasis. LAMP-2 is a type I transmembrane protein that helps maintain lysosomal integrity, acidity, and protects lysosomal membranes from degradation. LAMP-2 is also involved in autophagy, mediating the fusion of autophagosomes with lysosomes, which is essential for the degradation and recycling of cellular components. Dysregulation of LAMP-2 is implicated in lysosomal storage disorders, such as Danon disease, and may contribute to altered lysosomal function in cancer and other diseases. LAMP-2 is sorted at the trans-Golgi network and trafficked intracellularly, highlighting its role in cellular transport and lysosomal biogenesis.
