IRF-3 Antibody (SL-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to target the Interferon Regulatory Factor 3 (IRF-3) protein with exceptional precision. Engineered against a recombinant IRF-3 fusion protein corresponding to human IRF-3 (amino acids 56-427), anti-IRF-3 antibody (SL-12) reliably detects IRF-3 from mouse, rat, and human species across a variety of applications, including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). IRF-3, also referred to as IIAE7, is a critical transcription factor in the innate immune response, playing a vital role in the detection of viral infections and the subsequent activation of type I interferons, such as IFN-β. Upon viral infection, IRF-3 undergoes phosphorylation, dimerizes, and translocates to the nucleus where IRF-3 binds to specific DNA elements to initiate the transcription of interferon genes, thereby orchestrating a robust antiviral defense mechanism. Understanding and analyzing IRF-3′s function is essential for elucidating the molecular pathways involved in immune regulation and the body′s response to pathogens. IRF-3 (SL-12) monoclonal antibody is available in both non-conjugated form and a variety of conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatile tools for researchers to investigate the intricate roles of IRF-3 in cellular processes and disease states.
