    SEE ALSO...

EF-Ts Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EF-Ts protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EF-Ts Antibody (A-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EF-Ts (TSFM) is a crucial 325 amino acid protein that plays a vital role in the elongation phase of protein biosynthesis on the ribosome, being one of the 13 mitochondrial-encoded proteins involved in this process. EF-Ts (TSFM) is predominantly expressed in the liver, kidney, and skeletal muscle, where EF-Ts (TSFM) interacts with EF-Tu, a multidomain GTPase essential for translation. This interaction facilitates the exchange of guanosine diphosphate for guanosine triphosphate, thereby promoting protein elongation. Mutations in EF-Ts (TSFM) can lead to combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency type 3 (COXPD3), a serious condition marked by defects in the mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation system, often resulting in severe metabolic acidosis and complications such as encephalomyopathy or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Multiple isoforms of EF-Ts (TSFM) arise from alternative splicing events, which may have implications for functional diversity and regulation in various cellular contexts.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with EF-Ts (A-10): sc-271588?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
