StARD5 Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects StARD5 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-StARD5 antibody (H-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. StARD5 is a member of the steroidogenic acute regulatory protein-related lipid transfer (START) domain family, which consists of fifteen distinct proteins that share a characteristic START domain and are crucial for lipid metabolism and transport. StARD5 is predominantly expressed in the kidney and liver, where StARD5 plays a vital role in the intracellular transport of sterols and the biosynthesis of cholesterol. StARD5′s expression is not regulated by sterols, but can be induced by endoplasmic reticulum stress, highlighting StARD5′s potential involvement in cellular stress responses. Understanding StARD5 function is essential, as StARD5 may influence lipid homeostasis and cellular signaling pathways, which are critical for maintaining overall cellular health and function.
