SLC25A23 Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SLC25A23 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SLC25A23 antibody (D-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLC25A23 protein, also known as solute carrier family 25 (mitochondrial carrier; phosphate carrier), member 23, or by aliases APC2, MCSC2, MGC2615, and SCaMC-3, is a crucial 467 amino acid mitochondrial inner membrane protein predominantly expressed in brain, skeletal muscle, and pancreas, with lower levels found in other tissues. SLC25A23 exists in four alternatively spliced isoforms and features three EF-hand domains and three Solcar repeats, which are important for function. SLC25A23 is a calcium-dependent mitochondrial solute carrier that plays a vital role in shuttling metabolites, nucleotides, and cofactors across the mitochondrial inner membrane. Specifically, SLC25A23 functions as an ATP-Mg/P(i) exchanger, regulating transport of magnesium-bound ATP in exchange for phosphate, thereby facilitating net uptake or efflux of adenine nucleotides into or from mitochondria. This regulation is essential for maintaining mitochondrial energy metabolism and cellular homeostasis. SLC25A23 gene is located on human chromosome 19p13.3, highlighting significance in both basic cellular functions and potential implications in various metabolic disorders.
