Datasheets
  • Mcm2 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 11-34 near the N-terminus of Mcm2 of Saccharomyces cerevisiae origin
  • Mcm2 Antibody (C-3) is recommended for detection of Mcm2 of S. cerevisiae origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • Anti-Mcm2 Antibody (C-3) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for Mcm2 Antibody (C-3) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with Mcm2 Antibody (C-3) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

    SEE ALSO...

Mcm2 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Mcm2 of S. cerevisiae origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mcm2 (C-3) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The minichromosome maintenance (Mcm) proteins, including Mcm2, are crucial for DNA replication as Mcm proteins form a part of the helicase complex that unwinds DNA, allowing replication machinery to access genetic material. This unwinding is essential for proper genome duplication during S phase of the cell cycle, ensuring each daughter cell receives an accurate DNA copy. Mcm2 interacts with other proteins such as Cdc6, which regulates DNA replication timing, and the origin recognition complex (ORC), which initiates replication. Precise regulation of these interactions maintains genomic stability and prevents DNA damage or replication stress, which can lead to cell cycle arrest or tumorigenesis.

What blocking solution should I use with Mcm2 (C-3): sc-515723 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
