KIF2C Antibody (2488C3a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects KIF2C protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-KIF2C antibody (2488C3a) is available as the non-conjugated format. Kinesin family member 2C (KIF2C), also known as mitotic centromere-associated kinesin (MCAK), plays a crucial role in regulating microtubule dynamics during cell division, which is essential for accurate chromosome segregation. KIF2C (2488C3a) antibody targets a protein primarily located in the cytoplasm and nucleus, where KIF2C associates with the centromere during early prophase and disassociates after telophase, ensuring proper chromosome alignment and separation. KIF2C is particularly abundant in thymus and testis, indicating importance in cellular processes related to these tissues, while showing lower expression in small intestine, mucosal lining of colon, and placenta. Human KIF2C is mapped to chromosome 1p34.1, highlighting genetic significance. KIF2C′s interaction with microtubules and other proteins involved in mitotic spindle assembly makes KIF2C vital for maintaining genomic stability, and dysregulation has been implicated in various cancers, suggesting potential as a therapeutic target.

It probably works well for IF, too (giving nuclear staining as shown by other antibodies) (1:200 dilution, formaldehyde-fixed HeLa).
