HHV-6 gp82/105 Antibody (2D6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the late protein gp82/gp105 of strain A of HHV-6 origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-gp82/105 antibody (2D6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. gp82/gp105 plays a crucial role in viral lifecycle, particularly in viral entry into host cells, which is essential for infection establishment and viral replication. Understanding gp82/gp105 function provides insights into HHV-6 pathogenesis and potential links to various diseases, including neurological disorders. The Herpesviridae family, to which HHV-6 belongs, consists of DNA viruses causing significant health issues in humans and other animals. Among eight distinct viruses in this family, HHV-6 is particularly noteworthy due to its association with febrile illnesses and potential role in demyelinating diseases such as multiple sclerosis. HHV-6 persistence and latency in various tissues, including monocytes/macrophages, salivary glands, brain, and kidney, highlight the importance of studying gp82/gp105 for understanding viral impact on human health.
