HDAC9 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects HDAC9 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HDAC9 antibody (B-1) is available as the non-conjugated form. HDAC9 protein plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation through function as a histone deacetylase, which removes acetyl groups from lysine residues on histones, leading to chromatin condensation and transcriptional repression. This process is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various biological processes, including cell differentiation and proliferation. HDAC9 is involved in muscle gene expression modulation and has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. HDAC9 exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, HDAC9 and HDAC9a, with both retaining HDAC catalytic domain and deacetylase activity, yet differing in expression patterns and functional roles. HDAC9 is predominantly expressed in tissues such as brain, skeletal muscle, kidney, placenta, and pancreas, highlighting significance in both normal physiology and disease states.
