GSTO1/2 Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GSTO1/2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GSTO1/2 (H-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GSTO1 protein, also known as glutathione S-transferase omega 1, is a 241 amino acid protein primarily localized in the cytoplasm and features both an N-terminal and a C-terminal GST domain. GSTO1 is expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels found in the heart, liver, and skeletal muscle, and functions as a homodimer that plays a crucial role in detoxification processes. GSTO1 catalyzes the conjugation of glutathione to a wide range of organic compounds, forming thioethers vital for metabolism and detoxification of xenobiotics and carcinogens. GSTO1 polymorphisms have been linked to childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Parkinson′s disease, and Alzheimer′s disease. GSTO2, closely related to GSTO1, is expressed in various tissues and contributes to the conversion of reactive compounds and glutathione, highlighting this protein family′s functional significance in cellular defense mechanisms.
