Fra-2 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 180-282 of human Fra-2 (Fos-related antigen 2/FOSL2), a crucial nuclear transcription factor. Anti-Fra-2 antibody (G-5) recognizes an epitope within this region and demonstrates broad species cross-reactivity, detecting Fra-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through Western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. Fra-2 maintains precise nuclear localization, where Fra-2 forms heterodimers with Jun family proteins, particularly c-Jun, through specialized leucine zipper and basic regions. These structural elements prove essential for both dimerization and DNA binding, enabling Fra-2-Jun complexes to recognize specific DNA sequences called TPA-responsive elements (TRE) within target gene promoters.
