CHST1 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects CHST1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CHST1, also known as KSGal6ST or KSST, is a keratan sulfate sulfotransferase that plays a crucial role in the sulfation of keratan in the cornea, which is vital for maintaining corneal transparency. CHST1 is predominantly expressed in the brain and skeletal muscle, where CHST1 localizes to the trans-Golgi network, facilitating the transfer of sulfate groups from 3′-phosphoadenosine 5′-phosphosulfate to specific galactose residues on keratan sulfate chains. Proper functioning of CHST1 is essential not only for corneal health but also for the generation of L-selectin ligands, which are important for leukocyte trafficking. Mutations in the CHST1 gene have been implicated in macular corneal dystrophy, highlighting the significance of CHST1 in both normal physiology and disease states. anti-CHST1 antibody (E-3) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the role of sulfotransferases in various biological processes.
