SEE ALSO...

C6 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects C6 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-C6 antibody (D-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. C6 protein, consisting of 934 amino acids, is a crucial component of the complement system, which is integral to the innate immune response. Specifically, C6 is involved in the formation of the membrane attack complex, a structure that can insert into the membranes of pathogens, leading to cell lysis and elimination of infections. C6 is expressed as two transcript variants and features several important structural domains, including one EGF-like domain, one LDL-receptor class A domain, one MACPF domain, two Sushi domains, and three TSP type-1 domains. Notably, deficiencies in C6 are associated with an increased susceptibility to bacterial infections, underscoring its vital role in immune defense. Using C6 (D-8) monoclonal antibody in research can provide insights into the mechanisms of the complement cascade and its implications in various immunological conditions.
