    SEE ALSO...

Ankyrin-1 Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Ankyrin-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Ankyrin-1 plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of cells by linking integral membrane proteins to the cytoskeleton, which is essential for cellular stability and function. Ankyrin-1 is predominantly located in the plasma membrane of erythrocytes, cardiac and skeletal muscle, and neurons, where Ankyrin-1 facilitates the organization of membrane domains and the anchoring of cytoskeletal components. The proper localization of Ankyrin-1 is vital for the maintenance of cell shape and the regulation of ion channels, which are critical for muscle contraction and neuronal signaling. Additionally, Ankyrin-1 exists in multiple isoforms, each contributing to diverse functional roles in different tissues. Notably, defects in Ankyrin-1 have been implicated in hereditary spherocytosis, a condition characterized by the destruction of red blood cells, highlighting the importance of Ankyrin-1 in both health and disease. Anti-Ankyrin-1 antibody (H-4) provides reliable detection and characterization of Ankyrin-1, making anti-Ankyrin-1 antibody (H-4) an invaluable tool for researchers studying cytoskeletal dynamics and membrane interactions in various biological contexts.

I am using Ankyrin-1 (H-4): sc-374240 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
