SEE ALSO...

TRM61 Antibody (C145I165) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TRM61 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-TRM61 antibody (C145I165) is available as the non-conjugated format. TRM61, also known as tRNA m(1)A58 methyltransferase subunit TRM61 or GCD14, is a vital component of the tRNA m(1)A58 methyltransferase complex, which consists of two subunits, TRM61 and TRM6, that function as heterotetramers. This enzyme is responsible for the methylation of adenosine at position 58 in tRNA, resulting in the formation of 1-methyladenosine, a crucial modification that stabilizes the initiator methionine tRNA (tRNAiMet). The presence of 1-methyladenosine is essential for the proper folding and function of tRNAiMet, which plays a direct role in the initiation of protein synthesis. Therefore, TRM61 is critical for maintaining the integrity of tRNA structure, and any mutations in the TRM61 gene that alter the substrate-binding pocket of the methyltransferase can lead to tRNAiMet instability, potentially disrupting protein synthesis and cellular function.
