SERCA1/2/3 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SERCA1/2/3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SERCA1/2/3 (B-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SERCA proteins, which are ATP-dependent calcium pumps, play a crucial role in maintaining low cytoplasmic free calcium concentrations, essential for cellular function and signaling. SERCA1 gene is predominantly expressed in type II (fast) skeletal muscle, while SERCA2 is processed in a tissue-dependent manner, resulting in muscle-specific SERCA2a isoform found in type I (slow) skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle, as well as SERCA2b isoform present in all cell types. SERCA3 gene, although less characterized, is expressed in various non-muscle cells, including platelets and lymphoid cells. Regulation of calcium uptake by SERCA proteins is vital for muscle contraction and relaxation, with SERCA2 playing a significant role in cardiac contractile function. All three isoforms—SERCA1, SERCA2, and SERCA3—undergo alternative splicing, which adds complexity to functional roles in different tissues.
