SEE ALSO...

p-mTOR Antibody (296.Ser 2481) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects phosphorylated mTOR at Ser 2481 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-mTOR (296.Ser 2481) antibody is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing flexibility for different experimental needs. The mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) plays a crucial role in cellular growth and metabolism, acting as a central regulator of cell proliferation and survival by integrating signals from nutrients, growth factors, and cellular energy status. This regulation is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to environmental changes, making mTOR a key player in various physiological processes, including autophagy, protein synthesis, and cell cycle progression. mTOR is involved in several diseases, including cancer and metabolic disorders, where dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell growth and proliferation. The phosphorylation of mTOR at Ser 2481 is particularly significant as this modification occurs under translationally repressive conditions, highlighting mTOR′s role in cellular response to stress and nutrient availability. Understanding mTOR function and regulation is essential for developing targeted therapies in diseases associated with mTOR dysfunction.

Is there data showing this antibody is specific to phosphorylated mTOR?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We have Western Blot data showing sensitivity to Calyculin A treatment and lambda phosphatase treatment which shows this antibody is specific to phosphorylated mTOR.
