NASP Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NASP in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NASP antibody (A-6) recognizes nuclear autoantigenic sperm protein, a crucial 788 amino acid protein involved in the transport of histones to the nucleus, thereby facilitating proper nucleosome assembly and ensuring effective DNA replication. NASP (A-6) antibody detects multiple alternatively-spliced isoforms, including a testis- and sperm-specific variant (tNASP) and a somatic cell variant (sNASP), highlighting diverse roles in different cell types. Nuclear autoantigenic sperm protein′s localization in both the nucleus and cytoplasm is vital for function, acting as a histone H1 binding protein that mediates histone transport, essential for normal cell cycle progression and cellular proliferation. NASP monoclonal antibody (A-6) recognizes a protein indispensable for spermatogenesis and normal development. In response to DNA damage, nuclear autoantigenic sperm protein undergoes phosphorylation by ATM or ATR, which may influence function and interactions within the cell.
