MyD88 Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MyD88 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-MyD88 antibody (E-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MyD88 plays a crucial role in the innate immune response, acting as an adaptor protein that facilitates the signaling cascade initiated by the interleukin-1 receptor, which is vital for the activation of the NFκB pathway. This pathway is essential for the transcription of pro-inflammatory cytokines and other immune response genes, highlighting MyD88′s importance in mediating inflammatory responses and maintaining immune homeostasis. MyD88′s structure includes a distinctive N-terminal death domain, which is critical for interaction with interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase (IRAK), and a Toll/IL-1R homology domain that enables association with the IL-1 receptor complex. These structural features are fundamental for protein-protein interactions that drive downstream signaling necessary for effective immune responses, making MyD88 a key player in the body′s defense mechanisms against pathogens.
