DAZAP1 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects DAZAP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DAZAP1, or deleted in azoospermia-associated protein 1, is a crucial 407 amino acid RNA-binding protein primarily localized in the nucleus of round spermatids and the cytoplasm of elongated spermatids, playing a vital role in spermatogenesis. DAZAP1 contains two RNA recognition motifs, which facilitate interaction with DAZ mRNA, thereby promoting the translation of DAZ proteins essential for germ cell development. Notably, DAZAP1 undergoes phosphorylation, a post-translational modification that leads to dissociation from DAZ mRNA, effectively regulating the expression of DAZ proteins and ensuring proper protein synthesis. Furthermore, DAZAP1 is predominantly expressed in the testis, with lower levels found in the thymus, heart, liver, brain, and pancreas, and exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing. DAZAP1′s ability to interact with other proteins, such as the DNA-binding protein MEF-2D, highlights significance in cellular signaling pathways and potential involvement in leukemogenesis when these pathways are disrupted.
