CRELD2 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CRELD2 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CRELD2, or cysteine-rich with EGF-like domains 2, is a 353 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including cell adhesion and neural development, making CRELD2 essential for proper physiological function. CRELD2 is primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum, where CRELD2 is secreted into the cell, and has been shown to interact with the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor subunit AChRα4, potentially influencing transport and function. The presence of two EGF-like domains and two FU domains in CRELD2 highlights structural complexity and suggests a significant role in mediating protein-protein interactions. Notably, human CRELD2 shares 69% amino acid identity with mouse CRELD2, indicating a conserved function across species. The gene encoding CRELD2 is located on human chromosome 22, which houses over 500 genes and is implicated in various genetic disorders, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome and neurofibromatosis type 2. Multiple isoforms of CRELD2 exist due to alternative splicing, further emphasizing functional diversity and importance in cellular mechanisms.
