SEE ALSO...

Ribosomal Protein L14 Antibody (KQ-16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ribosomal Protein L14 (RPL14) of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RPL14 antibody (KQ-16) is available as a non-conjugated format. RPL14, also known as L14, RL14, CTG-B33, or CAG-ISL-7, is a crucial component of the 60S ribosomal subunit, which plays a vital role in protein synthesis within the cytoplasm. This 213 amino acid protein belongs to the L14e family of ribosomal proteins and features a basic region-leucine zipper (bZIP)-like domain and a polymorphic polyalanine tract. The polyalanine tract is particularly significant as it helps regulate transcription, influencing gene expression and cellular function. RPL14 is encoded by multigene families that include processed pseudogenes, highlighting its evolutionary importance and regulatory complexity. RPL14′s ability to interact with various other proteins within the ribosomal assembly underscores its essential role in maintaining ribosome integrity and functionality, making RPL14 a critical target for studies related to protein synthesis and cellular metabolism.

Can sc-100826: Ribosomal Protein L14 (KQ-16) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100826: Ribosomal Protein L14 (KQ-16) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
