    SEE ALSO...

Positive cofactor 4 Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Positive Cofactor 4 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Positive Cofactor 4 plays a crucial role in the regulation of transcription within eukaryotic cells, acting as a coactivator that mediates the interaction between transcriptional activators and the RNA polymerase II holoenzyme. Positive Cofactor 4 is essential for both basal and gene-specific transcriptional activation, as Positive Cofactor 4 associates with various cofactors, including transcription factor IIA and TATA-binding protein-associated factors, to facilitate the binding of the transcription machinery to double-stranded DNA. The ability of Positive Cofactor 4 to induce transcriptional activation or repression depends on the presence of specific transcription factors and holoenzyme components, highlighting Positive Cofactor 4′s importance in the precise regulation of gene expression. Additionally, Positive Cofactor 4 undergoes phosphorylation by TFIID and TFIIH, a post-translational modification that plays a significant role in function by releasing Positive Cofactor 4 from the DNA promoter region, thereby inhibiting assembly into the transcriptional promoting complex and blocking transcription. This dynamic regulation underscores Positive Cofactor 4′s role in maintaining the balance of gene expression, which is vital for cellular function and response to environmental signals.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-166279 X be used instead of the standard form sc-166279?

    Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
