PMP22 Antibody (PMP22H1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PMP22 in human and rhesus monkey samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. PMP22 is a crucial growth-regulated membrane protein predominantly expressed by Schwann cells, where PMP22 plays a vital role in the formation and maintenance of compact myelin in the peripheral nervous system. PMP22 is essential for the proper functioning of peripheral nerves, as PMP22 contributes to the structural integrity and insulation of nerve fibers, facilitating efficient signal transmission. Mutations in the gene encoding PMP22, located on human chromosome 17p11.2, are associated with several neuropathies, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure palsies, highlighting PMP22′s importance in both health and disease. Anti-PMP22 antibody (PMP22H1) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying myelin-related disorders and the underlying mechanisms of peripheral nerve function.
