MuRF1 Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MuRF1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MuRF1 (C-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Muscle specific RING finger protein (MuRF1) plays a crucial role in muscle atrophy, being a sarcomere-associated protein that is upregulated in response to atrophic conditions. MuRF1 is essential for regulating the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, which is responsible for protein degradation in muscle tissues. MuRF1 mediates the degradation of specific muscle proteins, highlighting its importance in maintaining muscle mass and function, particularly during stress conditions such as cancer, AIDS, and sepsis, where reactive oxygen species are elevated. MuRF1 interacts with Titin kinase, influencing microtubule-dependent signaling pathways in striated muscle and iris, thereby linking muscle structure to signaling mechanisms that govern hypertrophy and atrophy. The modulation of MuRF1 activity presents a potential therapeutic target for interventions aimed at reversing muscle wasting, making MuRF1 a significant focus in the study of muscle-related diseases and conditions.
