SEE ALSO...

CD24 Antibody (3H1143) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CD24 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD24 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored membrane sialoglycoprotein predominantly expressed on pro-B, pre-B, and mature B cells, with expression diminishing following B cell activation. CD24 is also present on granulocytes and a small subset of thymocytes and neuroblastomas, but remains absent in plasma cells. CD24 plays a crucial role in regulating B cell proliferation and differentiation, serving as a marker for B cell maturation and showing involvement in various hematological malignancies and solid tumors. A transition from apical to cytoplasmic staining of CD24 has been identified as a surrogate marker for stromal invasion in ovarian serous tumors of borderline malignancy. CD24′s expression pattern provides insights into B cell differentiation status, appearing on mature resting B cells but disappearing upon stimulation, highlighting CD24′s importance in understanding immune responses and potential therapeutic targets in cancer. Anti-CD24 antibody (3H1143) serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating B cell biology and tumor immunology.

What is the difference between the anti- CD24 antibody (3H1143): sc-70600 and anti-CD24 antibody(SN3):sc-19585?

Asked by: Lan6083
Thank you for your question. There is no significant difference between these two antibodies. The original CD24 clone (SN3) has also been commercially available and published under the alternative clone designation (3H1143). Therefore we have assigned a separate catalog number so that customers can find the antibody under both clone names.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with CD24 (3H1143): sc-70600 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
