SEE ALSO...

TGase2 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects TGase2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TGase2 (E-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TGase2, also known as transglutaminase 2, plays a crucial role in cellular processes by catalyzing the formation of isopeptide bonds, which are essential for protein cross-linking. This enzymatic activity is particularly important in forming the cross-linked cell envelope (CE) in terminally differentiating mammalian epidermal cells, contributing to structural integrity and barrier function of the epidermis. The CE forms through transglutaminases creating disulfide bonds and γ-glutamyl-lysine isodipeptide bonds, enhancing skin resilience against environmental stressors. TGase2 is involved in blood coagulation, cell differentiation, and apoptosis, highlighting significance in both normal physiology and pathological conditions. Human tissue transglutaminase (TGase2) is a 687 amino acid protein specifically expressed in endothelial cells, making TGase2 a vital target for vascular biology and disease studies.
