RDH11 Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RDH11 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-RDH11 antibody (F-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RDH11 is a crucial member of the short-chain retinol dehydrogenase/reductase family, functioning primarily as an oxidoreductive catalyst for retinoids. RDH11 is predominantly expressed in tissues such as the liver and prostate, where RDH11 plays a vital role in the metabolism of retinoids by reducing trans- and cis-retinaldehydes and oxidizing trans-retinols. RDH11 is essential in the retinal pigment epithelium, where RDH11 catalyzes the final step in the retinoid cycle of pigment regeneration, converting 11-cis-retinol to 11-cis retinal. This process is critical for maintaining proper vision, as RDH11 ensures the availability of the chromophore necessary for phototransduction in the retina. Although no diseases have been directly linked to mutations in the gene encoding RDH11, understanding RDH11 function and interactions is important for elucidating the broader implications of retinoid metabolism in health and disease.
