SEE ALSO...

PEPCK-C Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to target Phosphoenolpyruvate Carboxykinase-C (PEPCK-C), also known as PCK1. Anti-PEPCK-C antibody (G-9) is raised against a precise epitope spanning amino acids 545-581 near the C-terminus of human PEPCK-C, ensuring accurate detection in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PEPCK-C is a pivotal enzyme in the gluconeogenesis pathway, responsible for the conversion of oxaloacetate to phosphoenolpyruvate in the liver, which is essential for maintaining blood glucose levels during fasting and metabolic stress. By facilitating the production of glucose from non-carbohydrate sources, PEPCK-C plays a critical role in energy homeostasis and metabolic regulation. The regulation of PEPCK-C by hormones such as insulin, which suppresses its expression, and glucagon and glucocorticoids, which enhance its expression, underscores its importance in metabolic flexibility and the body′s response to varying nutritional states. Dysregulation of PEPCK-C activity is closely linked to metabolic disorders like type 2 diabetes and obesity, making it a significant target for therapeutic research aimed at improving insulin sensitivity and managing glucose levels. PEPCK-C monoclonal antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® variants, providing versatility for diverse experimental needs. By enabling precise detection and analysis of PEPCK-C, anti-PEPCK-C antibody (G-9) supports advanced studies into glucose metabolism and the development of potential treatments for insulin resistance and related metabolic conditions.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377136 P appropriate for?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
