SEE ALSO...

p-Rb Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects p-Rb, specifically the dually phosphorylated forms at Thr 821 and Thr 826, in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-Rb (E-10) antibody is offered in both non-conjugated and various conjugated formats, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Retinoblastoma protein (Rb) plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle, particularly at the G1-S transition, by acting as a tumor suppressor. Rb function is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis, preventing excessive cell proliferation and promoting differentiation and apoptosis. Phosphorylation of Rb, particularly at Ser 795, leads to inactivation, allowing cell cycle progression. This phosphorylation is part of a complex regulatory mechanism involving multiple phosphorylation sites, including Ser 249/Thr 252, Thr 373, Thr 356, Ser 780, Ser 807/Ser 811, and Thr 821/Thr 826, which collectively modulate Rb activity. Hypophosphorylated Rb represses transcription of cell cycle-related genes through direct protein-protein interactions and recruitment of histone deacetylases, underscoring Rb importance in tumor suppression and oncogenesis prevention, making anti-p-Rb antibody (E-10) an essential tool for researchers studying cancer biology and cell cycle regulation.
