IL-10 Antibody (JES5-16E3) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects interleukin-10 in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IL-10 antibody (JES5-16E3) recognizes interleukin-10, a crucial 178 amino acid protein primarily secreted by TH2 clones, which plays a vital role in immune regulation. This cytokine suppresses the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines by TH1 clones in response to antigens presented by monocyte and macrophage antigen presenting cells, thereby maintaining immune homeostasis. Additionally, interleukin-10 inhibits the response of cytokine-targeted cells, potentially through the downregulation of CD25, the IL-2 receptor, on macrophages and B lymphocytes. Interleukin-10 exists as a non-covalently linked homodimer in solution, which is essential for biological activity. The interaction of interleukin-10 with IL-10 receptor (IL-10R), a glycoprotein that can be induced in cultured macrophages and fibroblasts by lipopolysaccharide stimulation, further underscores its importance in modulating immune responses.
